The statewide Fight Fraud taskforce is includes
members from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police
Department and other local law enforcement agencies,
the Nevada Division of Motor Vehicles, the Internal
Revenue Service, the Bureau of Consumer Protection
through the Nevada Attorney General’s Office, the
Nevada Consumer Affairs Division, the Better
Business Bureau, Clark County Legal Services, and
experts from the private sector.
“Our
mission is to educate the community about the scams
that are out there and to increase the ability of
individuals to make informed decisions to protect
their hard-earned dollars,” said Nevada
Consumer Affairs Division Commissioner James E.
Campos. “The
Taskforce acts as an information clearinghouse for
the latest scams and is developing materials to
teach Nevadans how to protect themselves and their
loved ones.”
The Taskforce is also responsible for ensuring the
latest fraud information is available on the Fight
Fraud website.
